History

The Company was founded in 1993 by Bill Wadlin, PH.D., MBA, a technical manager with broad experience in laboratory management, analytical research, operations management, business development and total quality management.

Bill started First Analytical, after creating and managing two other laboratories in the RTP area (the analytical support lab of the GE Microelectronics Center, and the Inorganic Division of Triangle Laboratories). He also brought to First Analytical a sound background in statistics and Quality Assurance, having served as QA manager at GE for several years and as an Examiner on the North Carolina Quality Leadership Committee.

Over the years, First Analytical developed a reputation for quality, affordable results and built a niche in metals analysis.

In 2009, Bill stepped down from the day to day management of the lab and transferred the ownership of the lab and the administrative and business development duties to the current owners. He continues to serve, however, as a consultant and as a member of the Company’s technical advisory board, which, in the aggregate, has over 60 years of experience in chemical analysis and stack testing industries.

• Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers
• Direct Aspiration Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers
• Ion Chromatograph with variable wavelength detectors
